Our review is focused on the current best elliptical trainers for home use which will also include some of the best Elliptical trainers for men and also the best Elliptical trainers for women.

Body Workout

There are several great reasons and advantages for having a reliable trustworthy Elliptical Cross trainer in your home such as getting a full body workout, reducing the impact on you joints, losing weight, toning up and improving your overall fitness, blood circulation, health and wellbeing.

Muscle Development

The one thing we like about these Cross trainers is that the resistance can be flexible in that you can increase the resistance for muscle development or reduce the resistance for weight loss targets and cardio calorie burning sessions. After 30 minutes of using an Elliptical cross trainer, you can expect to burn off approx. 250 calories depending on your age and fitness profile.

Benefits to having an Elliptical Cross Trainer:

Elliptical cross trainers are a popular type of fitness equipment found in most gyms and homes. They offer numerous benefits that make them an ideal workout machine for people of all fitness levels. Here are some of the benefits of using elliptical cross trainers:

Low-impact workout

One of the biggest advantages of using an elliptical cross trainer is that it provides a low-impact workout. Unlike running or jogging, which puts a lot of strain on your joints, the elliptical's smooth motion allows you to exercise without putting unnecessary stress on your knees, ankles, and hips. This makes it an excellent choice for those with joint problems or injuries.

Full-body workout

Elliptical cross trainers work out the entire body, including the arms, legs, core, and glutes. This makes them a highly efficient machine for those looking to tone and strengthen their entire body.

Cardiovascular benefits

Elliptical cross trainers provide an excellent cardiovascular workout. They get your heart rate up, increase blood flow, and improve lung capacity, all of which help to strengthen your cardiovascular system.

Weight loss

If you're looking to lose weight, an elliptical cross trainer is an excellent tool to help you achieve your goals. It burns a significant number of calories, making it an effective way to shed excess pounds.

Low maintenance

Elliptical cross trainers are relatively low maintenance compared to other types of exercise equipment. They are easy to clean, don't require any lubrication, and have fewer moving parts that can break down over time.

Customizable workouts

Most elliptical cross trainers come with adjustable resistance levels, incline settings, and pre-programmed workout routines. This allows you to customize your workout to your fitness level and goals.

Convenience

Lastly, elliptical cross trainers are incredibly convenient. They take up less space than other exercise machines, are easy to use, and can be used at any time of the day, making them an excellent addition to any home gym and they are a popular choice for those looking to get fit and healthy at home

Tips when buying your Elliptical Cross Trainer

  • Flywheel: The heavier the flywheel, the smoother and more resistant a Cross trainer will be.
  • Warranty: Always check the warranty provided and only buy from a trusted supplier. You should insist on a minimum of 12 months warranty and many featured here on this list offer more than just the standard 12 months
  • Location: Check the room in your home first and make sure you have adequate space to allow for the dimensions involved as some of the Cross trainers are a lot larger than they look. Avoid garages or cold rooms also as dampness can set in and damage computer or electrical parts.
  • Entertainment: Plan to place your Cross trainer close to a TV or Smart TV so it can motivate you to get up on it more frequently instead of gathering dust or hanging up laundry.
  • Stride Length: If you wish to do longer strides and in jogging motions, choose a model that offers around 18 to 21 inches of stride length, otherwise your workouts could feel somewhat restricted. The longer the stride length, the more you will get out of it in your training sessions.
  • Inclines: If you wish to focus on your upper thighs, then choose only a cross trainer that offers an Incline feature that can also add enhanced cardio uphill options.
  • Weight Capacity: Many Cross trainers have weight capacity max levels of 100 to 135kg so make sure you know your own weight before browsing or making your final choice.
  • Footprint: If you weigh over 13 stone, you should try to select a model with a foot print minimum of 75cm wide by 140cm long for extra stability.

  1. Still working on gathering up some funds to get one of these trainers and I have to admit it takes quite a lot of sacrifice and foregoing some luxuries. Which one do you think would less problematic in terms of mechanics and would last quite a longer period of time before losing all its value. I liked the JTX  strider because its real affordable but im afraid the price does say a lot about the overall performance. Should I be worried?

    • Definitely not, you have no need to worry whatsoever. The JTX Strider is an awesome piece of equipment and will not let you down! We absolutely loved working on this Elliptical trainer and we recommend it very highly, Regards, John

  2. Once again, thank you for the awesome review!  Along with a rowing machine, I have been needing a good elliptical for my workout room.  I’m glad I have came across your review because the second one called JTX strider looks amazing to me!  I really like that I can pay ten percent down and pay the rest later.  That helps a lot when you are on a budget.

    • Yes it certainly does help a lot when you are on a budget. Best to pay for it over a longer period of time when other bills need to be paid also. Take Care, John.
